The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

The IT manager, CET Operational support will build establish strong, trustworthy relationships with business leaders, business engagement IT peers and Corporate IT teams to ensure successful operations of cross division applications. The candidate should have a passion for manufacturing systems and a propensity to problem-solve, attention to detail, and demonstrate strong leadership qualities. It's imperative to be a self-motivated team player who can manage and prioritize multiple tasks, provide daily proactive business partner facing and internal IT facing communication. This leadership role will be asked to collaborate both within the IT function and plant IT personnel and have strong communication skills to provide clear and concise report outs specific to incidents as well as summary outputs on a monthly basis.

Key
Responsibilities:
Supervise a distributed, mixed team of contractors and permanent employees

Operation Management:

  • Lead CET Operations Community of Practice
  • Manage Incidents and service requests
  • Lead rapid response activities
  • Maintain operation process and incident response documentation
  • Develop standard operating documents and knowledge base articles
  • Coordinate incident escalation
  • Provide continual improvements and definitions
  • Data Archive Monitoring - Metric development, tracking, and reporting
  • Operational Support
  • Oversight of 2nd level support and response
  • Identification and response to system/solution issues
  • Perform environment maintenance and related customer communications
  • System monitoring and recovery
  • Perform routine operational monitoring
  • Perform root cause analysis
  • Perform deployments and migrations facilitation
  • Maintain the development environment
  • Communications/Collaboration
  • End user customers where needed
  • Monthly operations status updates with key stakeholders

Required Skills:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science /Systems Management/IT Related field
  • Strong understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices in application development
  • Experience working with IT systems in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • In-depth knowledge of source code management systems
  • In-depth knowledge of relational databases
  • Prior supervisory experience

Desired Skills:

  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, facilitation and negotiation skills (including ability to translate between business and technology needs).
  • Ability to continuously prioritize and multitask efficiently.
  • Ability to influence decisions with critical thinking based upon experience and grasp of the strategic intent of the project.

    years experience using programming languages and SQL Server database development
  • Knowledge and experience in GE Plant Application (Proficy) MES Systems

Travel Requirements:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
