Day to Day
Responsibilities:
Conduct innovative research in glass and glass-ceramics in an industrial setting. The candidate must be able to work independently as well as part of multidisciplinary research teams. We are looking for flexible individuals with a strong foundation in glass physics and chemistry, including silicate phase equilibria. The candidate will conduct fundamental and applied research in areas as diverse as new glass composition development for high-tech applications and basic structure-property relationships in glass. Basic familiarity with relevant modeling techniques is also required. Candidates must be able to communicate technical information to a broad/multidisciplinary community and interface well with manufacturing, development, and services groups.
Travel Requirements (please note if international): 5-10% domestic and international
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 40hours
Required Education (minimum required for consideration): Ph.D. in Glass Science, Materials Science, Geology, Physics, or Chemistry
Required Years and Area of
Experience: (minimum required for consideration): Post-doc or prior industrial research experience is beneficial but not required.
Required Skills (These are skills that candidates MUST possess):
Advanced understanding of glass science, including structure-property relationships.
Familiarity with glass characterization techniques and silicate phase equilibria.
Able to work independently as well as in multidisciplinary research teams.
Able to conduct innovative research in glass and glass-ceramics in an industrial setting.
Familiarity with modeling techniques applicable to glass composition design and understanding.
Desired Skills (These are skills that would be nice for candidates to possess):
Experience with glass-ceramics.
Strong track record of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Experience with both applied and fundamental research in glass.
Participation at relevant glass conferences.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
