Job
Responsibilities:
The applicant will be expected to lead their own projects and work in a multi-disciplinary research, development, and engineering environment to identify opportunities for advanced controls.
The candidate will need to determine control challenges, value propositions, and write proposals to initiate control projects
Propose and define project objectives, scope, timeline and deliverables, and identify and seek resources to meet project needs
Be familiar with various instrumentation and control techniques, perform control system assessments, and provide recommendations for control system maintenance and upgrades
Utilize data analysis skills, including multivariate statistical analysis, frequency analysis, etc., to provide system understanding leading to control design
Collaborate with experts in other fields on control oriented process modeling
Design and develop innovative advanced control solutions to meet technical challenges and implement solutions for R&D and manufacturing processes
Work closely with experts in other disciplines or functions in project teams to develop controls and integrate other related technology such as process sensing and modeling
Leverage optimization techniques to improve process performance and efficiency
Utilize advanced controls skills to implement solutions such as linear and nonlinear controls, model predictive control, intelligent control, supervisory controls
Generate intellectual property through appropriate technical reports, invention disclosures and patent applications.
Travel:
Up to 10% travel may be required including international.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with 3
years of experience and a background in process controls and additional background in MSPC or advanced data analysis techniques. Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering applicants with a strong control systems background will also be considered.
Required Skills:
The candidate must have experience leading cross-functional and cross-disciplinary teams
Experience introducing advanced technology into manufacturing
Experience in design, development, and implementation of control systems for industrial processes
Background in multivariate statistical process control methods, data-based modeling, and large scale data analysis
Background in control systems engineering including optimal, multivariable, and nonlinear methods
Background and application using process optimization methods
The ability to communicate and sell technical ideas and initiatives
Desired Skills:
System identification, signal processing, and statistics
Understanding of R&D and the skills required to effectively provide advanced controls and systems technology into R, D & E
Experience using programming, simulation, and statistical tools such as Matlab/Simulink, Simca, C/C++, VB.
Soft Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse cultures and technical backgrounds and across technologies, disciplines, and functions
Optimistic, can do attitude in the face of challenges and set-backs
Networking and general organizational awareness skills.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
