Scope of Position:
The key objective of the position is to lead the North American capital buying team. Be the liaison with the Business Procurement Managers (BPM) to determine when and where to effectively use capital buyers versus plan buyers. Seek to bring more capital buys under management. Meet the Capital Price Avoidance Global objective. Provide guidance to and develop current and future team. Ensure effective use of capital processes and continually drive for process improvement/simplification/rigor.
Day to Day
Responsibilities:
The key objectives of the role is to manage the capital team for North America, be the liaison with the BPMs for service to their organization, meet our internal customer requirements.
Directly supervises the capital buyers and is responsible for development of key talent for pipeline replenishment.
Ensure the alignment between capital buyers and project teams. .
Leads the development, communication, and execution of the North American Capital effectiveness
Instrumental in maintaining positive relationships with our key suppliers
Ensure capital contracts (CC agreements) and continually updated
Works with the Plant Buyers, BPMs and MTE to effectively allocate resources to projects and insure successful execution.
Continually seeks out and evaluates new potential contractors and suppliers.
Acts as the capital buyer for various projects.
Allocates resources to effectively meet customer requirements.
Responsible for delivering Capital Price Avoidance.
Develops and cultivates effective relationships with suppliers.
Provides guidance to direct reports.
Responsible for department budget
Champions and advocates for the Global Buying Policy. Ensures compliance.

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 40
hours (Monday - Friday)
Required Education (minimum required for consideration):
Degree:
Bachelor (engineering) / Desired: CPM, CPSM, CPIM
Required Years and Area of
Experience:
Minimum 5 years operations, planning, engineering or procurement
Experience working in a matrix environment or on a cross-functional team
Experience across multiple businesses, division and / or technologies
Experience in global manufacturing and business through work, project experience
Experience in staff or project roles
Experience as a plant or corporate buyer
