Position
Summary:
To plan and direct all Pressware manufacturing activities on a day to day basis to achieve the planned production/efficiency goals. To aid and assist the Sr. Plant Director in policy and long term planning of the Plant operations as they affect Corelle and any associated business relationships
Primary
Responsibilities:
Achieve planned production levels on a Period to Period basis
Monitor and maintain outgoing quality at the planned/budgeted levels
Direct the growth and self-development of subordinates
Maintain cooperation and resolve conflicts between Plant Staff Groups and Production Departments in order to obtain the best solutions on present short term problems
Develop, promote, and support cost reduction practices and programs
Control labor relations rapport within the Plant
Ensure Plant safety, health, and housekeeping policies, procedures are followed
Manage capital portfolio for the plant
Manage cost reduction activity for the plant
Insure orderly and economic repairs to the major melting units as they occur
Insure the initial production of new shapes and processes
Assist in providing data, information and development of guidelines for additional product expansion
Insure project completion
Develop and deploy processes to ensure continuous improvement
Approval of all operations related spending
Advise the Plant Manager in detail of people and equipment needs and/or moves
Optimize Plant production schedule to match Plant and Business demands
Advise controller on operations budgets, forecasts and schedules
Setting improvement project and operations priorities
Manufacturing Performance of the Plant
Enforcement of plant safety and housekeeping policies and procedures
Performance, quality of decisions when acting as the Plant Manager in his absence
Maintaining a positive labor relations environment within the Plant
Cost reduction achieved
Process for effective continuous improvement
Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or MBA preferred in Business, Engineering or related field
10
years of manufacturing experience /glass related experience preferred
Lean experience preferred
Supervision of personnel in a manufacturing or military situation a plus
Strong working knowledge of business and finance a plus
Highly organized and capable of operating in a varied, fast paced environment
Position requires strong leadership skills
Must be highly motivated and results oriented
Ability to be a change agent in a fast paced organization
Qualified candidates must provide proof of continous improvement in safety, efficiency, and personnel development. Must be results focused with a commitment and desire to make an impact
