Scope of Position:
Serve as the Diesel Logistics Engineer for Logistics Operations located in Painted Post, NY.
Day to Day
Responsibilities:
Identify and implement space utilization improvements
Identify and implement labor efficiency improvement opportunities
Review process flows, identify waste in the process and implement sustainable systems to reduce waste and optimize flow of materials
Optimize locations for ware storage based on usage
Analysis and time studies of fork truck movements and travel to identify Standard Work and opportunities for efficiency improvements and work balancing
Day to day production support to troubleshoot delivery and flow issues as needed
Interface with 3rdparty Logistics provider to analysis shipping data and flows
Interface with shuttle trucking companies regarding schedules and efficiency improvements
Perform analysis to identify and implement metrics to improve efficiency and productivity
Manages projects to reduce variability and promote consistency in the process
Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 8am 5pm, with some flex time as needed to support operations
Education and
Experience:
BS or higher degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering (or related degree)
Required Skills:

Excellent computer skills (working knowledge and application of Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, etc.)

Desired Skills:
Warehousing and Logistics experience
Knowledge of warehouse management systems
Experience in identification and implementation of cost reduction ideas

Lean improvement experience / process flow improvements
Capable in data analysis
Green Belt or Black Belt Performance Excellence / DMAIC
Soft Skills:
